Reprogram Odometer after Instrument Cluster swap?
I changed my Instrument cluster in my 99 Blazer 4x4 LS last week with one from a yard. The Odometer in mine had been out for thousands of miles but i was still always able to read my mileage when i connected it too my scanner at work. It has about 235,000 on it but the one from the yard reads 179,000.
Do I HAVE TO GO TO A DEALER to reset the Odometer to display the ACTUAL miles? or is this something I should be able to do with a high end Scanner like the SnapOn Verus Pro I have at my shop? Id hope the $13,000 scanner we just got could do the job. If anyone has done this and been able to do it themselves Id like to know, or if its a for sure Dealer only type thing I need to know as well. I do still have my old Cluster just in case I need them both |
Verus Pro is definitely a high end scanner, however, the instrument cluster needs to be programmed with a TechII scanner using the proper software.
