Returning code p306
 

This is the third time I have had to replace the plugs and wires in 8 months time. A/c delco are not cheap parts by any meens. I noticed that at the intake manifold that it is leaking ever so slitly could this be my problem. And if so why only one cylinder. On to anouther idea i have not ever replaced the disturbter. Any help would be appeccated

P0306 is indicating a misfire on cylinder #6. Whatever the problem is, it is affecting that cylinder only, which limits the possibilities considerably. If the intake gasket is leaking vacuum, internal or external, or coolant internally, near the #6 intake port, it can cause a misfire. Could be a problem with #6 injector or its circuits, spark plug, plug wire. Check the plug for wetness, (unburned fuel) or dry, (lack of fuel). If there is a knocking or ticking sound, it could be a problem with a lifter.

I replaced the intake manifold gaskets this morning and still getting the code but I now curious where these circuits are at, before I buy another set of plugs and wires. Just replaced the spider 2 or 3 months ago so I hope thats not the case. Ill pull a plug and let you know. thanks

The plugs had a strong smell of gas and were burnt replaced them again and still no change. by circuits you mean the computer on the left of the motor compartment.

If you perform the injector balance test, along with fuel pressure and leakdown tests, the results of those tests will either confirm or deny a problem exists in the fuel delivery system for cylinder #6. This will require a fuel pressure tester and a scan tool capable of initiating the injector balance test.

The alternative to doing these tests is to start throwing parts at it.

i had a friend with a s-10, 4cyl getting a p0304, long story short, found a
failing electrical connector at the injector, which then set off a chain reaction and the ecm kept compisating for the misfire,which ended up
needing a rebuilt ecm, there is moor to it,but that is the short of it, replaced the wiring and ecm, runs great, his truck is a 2003 with 210000
miles
