95 Chevy blazer. i can shift out of part without have to press my brake. is that good? does my year have a safety switch? if not can one be installed? aslo is it possible to up date my dash to a 98-up dash with the gauges and stuff

There definitely is a neutral safety switch, however, that does not have anything to do with being able to shift out of park without pressing the brake. The NSS locks out the starter when out of park or neutral - meaning that you cannot start the engine with the transmission in reverse or any one of the drive positions.

IIRC, my 95 Blazer did the same thing. So I don't think you need to worry about it.

when you say cinsole, do you mean the center console between the driver and passenger seat?

the dash seems doable, but like it'd be a lot of work. most of the vacuum hoses and wires are going to have different different ends on them from your year to the 98+ that would have to be swapped to work with the new dash controls.

is it the overall look of the dash or something else? I'm pretty sure fitting a 2din radio into your 1.5 din slot only takes a little modification. That would freshen things up a bit.

I know its not a blazer, but my old Grand Am did that when a reverse light was out. GM's crazy way of letting you know I guess.

So I guess check out your reverse lights and see if they are both working.

will a 97 blazer oem(Stock) cd player fit my 95 Blazer? does the 97 Oem cd player play burnt cd?

To the best of my knowledge both of those are 1.5 DIN radios, so it should fit. If you have pictures of both, that would help to confirm this. If you're not familiar, that is the vertical size of the radio. Standard size are single DIN, 1.5 Din, and double DIN.

My biggest concern would be the wiring harness as it may not be the same. A quick visual check should confirm this--if it has the same plug it's doable without any extra work. If it doesn't have the same plug, the best bet is to spice the correct harness in or make and adapter harness that will plug in between your existing harness and the new radio.
