Scan tool
Looking to purchase new scan tool I was reading old threads and seen autoenginuity and Ilink400 often mentioned. Does anyone still use these or did y’all move on to something newer?
|
I still use Autoenginuity when I need heavy diagnostic and/or bidirectional controls beyond what I have on my phone with a bluetooth tool. If you always have a laptop handy, AE is a very powerful software. For general code running and other small tasks, I keep a bluetooth tool in my truck and my work truck as you can't beat them for their low investment and capabilities as long as you understand that there are limitations to what they can do.
When I had my Yukon I was looking into getting a tuning software suite and selling my AE tool. Depending on what my soon to be new driver in the house picks up for a first car, I might be back in that boat again in another few months... |

I use BlueDriver. It connects to a mobile device via bluetooth (Android recommended) and it does a lot of stuff. It will scan other modules too and pull codes form there unlike most other cheat scan tools. I use it to diagnose ABS codes.
It's good for just pulling codes, it doesn't give you ability to diagnose and test separate components. |
I’ve been leaning towards the Ilink400 it’s for sale for $129 right now. Does either support misfire counter?
