Seat belt not working! HELP!

The front drivers side female portion of the seat belt will not accept the metal latch. I compared the passenger side one and the metal bracket that clicks the belt in is extend and blocking the male piece from going in. I can get the locking bracket to retract a little by depressing the red seat belt release but not enough to put the metal part in. I can use the passenger side of the buckle when driving alone but I'm out of luck when the wifey is with me. Just don't feel safe with out a seat belt and did a search and have not found anything. Anyone had any experience with this?

sounds like it thinks its latched - u just likely need something to pull the striker back up to its original position so it doesn't block the connector.

Fixed seat belt problem! Long story short... removed the buckle portion of the seat belt and there were pieces of my wife's scarf jammed in the buckle and would not allow it to lock in. Removed the center console ( three 10mm bolts) and a 50mm torx bit for the seat belt buckle screw. Disconnected the sensor from under the seat and used a pic tool to remove the pieces of scarf. The dealer quoted me 85 bucks for the buckle! I was driving with out the center console for three days and using the passenger side buckle. LOL

$85 isn't a bad price from a stealership for a new buckle - my buddies dad just got quoted $400 to replace and install one in his 06 uplander from the stealership.

granted i went to the yard and scored up a pair of them for $50 tho to save him some $$$ - glad it was an easy fix afterall for you tho! and tell the wife to keep her scarf outta the belt :P
