shift solenoid or something else?

For a while now my blazer has had an issue shifting into drive. Once I start it in the morning and back out of the driveway, when i shift into drive it usually takes a few seconds and a tap of the gas pedal and it's shifts into drive and I go on my way. But the next time I shift into reverse and then drive to say pull into a parking spot and turn around, when I shift into drive it takes a lot longer, sometimes not shifting at all unless I give it some taps of the gas pedal. But 5 times out of 10 when it shifts, it slams into drive, sometimes harder than others. If I go to 3rd or 2nd it still hesitates but not as bad but if I go to 1st, it shifts fine and I can drive a little bit, stop, then shift into drive and everything is fine. A friend of mine says shift solenoid, which is what I was thinking also, or maybe TCC solenoid.....but is there any other things it might be? Before I get down there and we replace the shift solenoids.

2000 Blazer 4.3L V6 if it helps...

i would drop the pan and do a filter fluid change i would also take out all the shift solenoids and clean them they have tiny fine mesh screens on them and over time they get clogged. i would start there if i was you

sounds like a pressure problem. Filter change could help. Solenoids are unlikely to have a symptom like this. The TCC solenoid defiantly wont be the culprit.

Yep agree with above, cheap and 2 hours max

I figured it wasnt the TCC cause that went on my old car so I know what happens with that. I need to do an oil change so I'll just do both at the same time. In the meantime I just shift to 1st and then back to drive and it's fine.

Now I think I need a new fuel pump, the needle is jumping again. Already had it replaced once for the sending unit....looks to be going again :/
