Shocks for 00 Blazer!!

I have never replaced all 4 of my shocks on my 2000 blazer. They are GM original equipment. I went to my mechanic yesterday to get my shocks inspected to see if they needed to be replaced. My mechanic says they are fine. My blazer only has about 93,000 miles on it. How long do shocks last?? about how many miles should I have them replaced. I heard they can last 10 years or 100,000 miles, Is this true? I do not do any type of heavy off-roading, just some dirt roads maybe 10 times a year. When i push down on the fenders the car will rebound nicely, but, does not bounce up and down continuously, nice and stiff. same with the back as well. Could you let me know what miles and how many years your original shocks lasted. thanks.

Shock life depends drastically on the conditions it has gone through. Everything affects a shock. Some last longer than others. Chances are yours are in need of replacement at that kind of mileage even if you do not think that they are. If you jump off the front bumper and the front end bobs up and down even minutely, you would notice the benefits new shocks would have in ride quality.
