Man, that's why I'm glad we have no inspections down here... Yet.
then again, if you saw the cars driven around here...

I love Michigan for this reason.. No inspections, so you can do whatever the heck you want, Semi trucks can double trailer here which actually cuts down on emissions, oh, and we have detroit which is a great urban wheeling place

I am surprised to hear about the exhaust system rule. I worked for Midas for 10 years before I started to work at a dealership and we always clampped the exhaust system together unless we did a custom bend and they did not want clamps. The original exhaust systems are welded together but most aftermarkets are are clampped together. The other stuff makes sense though. Good Luck.

Good luck. I know when I drop off a vehicle for inspection I end up holding my breath all day waiting for the bad news. I have actually found a good mechanic who will just try to get the car by with as little money as possible.

just take it to a differnt shop and ask them to inspect and see if they say it need anything. if my blazer had to have something fixed that was costly i normal take to a differnt shop and ask what they think

I think I'm going to put back on my front sway bar. and make it detachable. It needed new bushings anyway. I may consider putting the rear one back on. I can't even remember when it was in working condition. that was the first thing that broke in my truck and I never went to get it fixed. shouldn't be more than $50 to weld my muffler. Still have to find a place to get an alignment since this place said it was impossible

Sway bar = good idea... the first time you go to swerve to avoid something, bye by Blazer... unless you put a set of wheels on that roof rack of yours

From my experience, the rear still articulates really well with a swaybar in it...

Yeah the whole welding of the muffler kind of surprises me too. I know they clamp them all the time at the dealership..
