Sorry, another 4x4 question.
Well, first im sorry for another question. Ive read all the stickies and searched but am still slightly confused.
First off, my situation. This a friends car that im working on for him. Its an 96 zr2 with the Three button option. What happens is, if you push 4hi you can hear it make a noise, then i believe the same for 4lo. I put it on the lift and found the wire from a plug in the tcase to be cut, i found the other part of the wire and soldered it back together. Nothing. Now onto diagnoses. From what ive read its either the vacuum, tccs, encoder motor, or encoder switch. Im pretty confidant on testing the vacuum reading the stickie. But im still confused on how to test the rest. Ive read that if i ground pin 13 on a switch, it will blink codes if it has any. I have access to a snap-on motis. Will this tell me the same thing? And lastly how do i go about testing them? If you have any tips/suggestions they're all greatly appreciated in figuring this out. Thanks! |
if you severed a wire it could be a fuse blown.

The motis is like a super advanced OBD reader. Might as well try it and see if anything comes up. When i fixed the wire i checked the fuses and the fuse wasn't blown.
