Spare tire carrier removal
Hey all!
I'm planning a trip to the junkyard tomorrow, and I was thinking about getting a spare tire carrier and fitting it to my blazer. I have no clue whatsoever as to what I need to take one off. Any help with what tools I need would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! BTW, I have a 97 blazer four door |
torx set,and a drill.
torx for what comes off, drill for the torx screws that doesnt. 99% of the time you will have 2-3 that will strip. walk around and find a few if you do strip some. If they are the same as first gen,ive got some for ya. |
A T47 or T50(both fit) and a T25 torx bit if I recall.
I pulled a couple off and all the bolts have come out easy(maybe different climate). |
Is that all the stuff needed to take off both the actual gate and receiver thing that goes on the tailgate?
|
Yup that's all you should need!
