Angry Spark plug changin Blues

I changed out my plugs this weekend and started my truck up and it was missing a cylinder, so I went to a mechanic who diagnosed it as my plug wires going bad on me so I just replaced them. It is still missing and it is really getting the best of me. Is it possible to get a bad plug new out of the box? Pleaaaaase Help!

You should pick up a spark checker for a few bucks at an auto parts store, and see if the all the wires are working. It could be a plug, the wires, or cap might be worn out for one of the cylinders.

if you know what cylinder is mis firing swap the plug with another cylinder that isn't and see if the misfire moves..do the same with the wire, before you go buying all kinds of parts

yeah ive had it happen twice on all the years of working cars. they were cracked. so either i dropped them or the parts store did.

the way i check is leave the engine running then go around and pull each wire off the plug one by one. if the plug/wire is good you should hear the engine start to run crappier. if it does nothing. then you got a idea of what cylinder is bad

that'll work abig84, just make sure you put a blanket over the inside of the fender Crap Blazer-'cause you're more than likely to get zapped from the wire (even new ones will get ya). or use those special boot pliers to pull them off (they never seem to work right though).
i had brand new Delco's literally blow the ends clean off before.

So I picked up an Autolite spark plug form the local Checker and put it in and now it purrs like a kitten and runs strong again. It turns out that Bosch plugs are complete crap in Domestic and I will never run them again. Now on to the rest of my to do list on the truck. Thanks to all of the replies.
