Starting Issues
Hey guys,
97 Blazer 4.3 Vortec 4x4 112,000 miles When I try to start my Blazer in 30-40 degree weather it won't start until I depress the accelerator and it fires immediately and runs perfect. But since its gotten colder 10- -10 it fires almost immediately. And runs smooth no misfires (that I can feel). But if I shut if off and don't let the motor cool completely I have to work the throttle to get it to fire and after it fires keep the motor wound up to about 1500 RPMS for 10-15 seconds before I let off or it will die again. Fuel pump and filter have both been replaced within 3 months and only have 2000 miles on both. I've had it wound up going down the highway and just cruising around town seeing if I can feel anything or hear anything out of line and I just can't pick up on anything thats out of the ordinary. I'm kinda on a limited budget right now due to getting laid off. Anybody have some ideas for me? |
I had one acting similar and believe it or not it was a coil issue, the coil tested out fine and didn't find the problem but for luck that it started to arc across itself, just food for thought.
