Steering damper?
Got a rancho damper. Problem is, I didn't have a stock one before. I have the factory mount on the frame, but no place to mount the other end on the steering. Is there a universal mount I can get, or should Iuse some clamps and rig something up?

i have been wondering the same thing on mine. let me know what you find out

Rockauto carries them
RANCHO Part # RS5526 {Steering Stabilizer Bracket; w/o O.E. Steering Stabilizer Mounts} Steering Stabilizer Bracket; w/o O.E. Steering Stabilizer Mounts 4WD Maybe this is what your looking for? |
I had my buddy make one. Couple u bolts, and welded it together. Took him 5 minutes. I took a pic, but on my iPhone, so I will post it when I copy it to my photobucket. Works great. All I did was turn wheels far left and install it with shock all the way in. What a difference..

which rancho shock did you end up using? mine on the zr2 is worn out and a low end replacement here is $55.

hows this working out?
what benifit does it actually have? the steering on the jimmy/blazer is sloppy and i want to try to tighten it up. im going to be changing the front shocks maybe the backs, and i want to go up to a 17" rim if i can find some cheap ones. i useto be on 20s with low pros and it drove much better but this truck has turned into a winter beater...so on that note, i dont want to invest much into it. |
no update on this???

Im looking to put a damper on my 04' blazer too. Was looking at Rancho part #RS97265 which comes with everything you need but i called Rancho Tech and they said all they had for an 04 was just the damper #RS5404. I have no oem damper but there is the frame bracket there from factory. Any1 use RS97265 on a 2nd gen blazer. I think im gonna try it to see if it works. Also streetsideauto.com has this kit for like $70 GREAT PRICE. And 1 thing else i think #RS97265 has the bracket kit #RS5526 included in it.
