strange noise under dash
 

I recently replaced the alternator in my 98 and I drove around the block to see how it was running and I heard a strange noise that was not there before. I apologize in advance for my poor description of the sound but It is like something behind the center console is trying to turn or move unsuccessfully. There is a little bit of a squeal to is as well. Is sounds like it is coming from behind the radio or the glove box. It always happens when I turn the car on but then comes and goes. Also, I dont know if it is related but my airconditioner quit working and my vents are always blowing out hot air, even when they are turned off. If anyone has any idea what this might be I would really appreciate it.

I am also hearing a noise from the rear windshield wiper (which just quit working), sounds like the motor is trying to start, but it is not on.

Well sounds like a damper is stuck for the front a for the rear is the wiper not all the way down if its not it will try to go all the way down even if its off now.
