Stupid abs question.

Stupid ABS question. The ebcm that is on the firewall with master cylinder attached? Is that also the abs pump. Was going to get complete unit from wrecker but need to know what I am talikng about first.

Problem: 1999 S10 Blazer abs light on after driving vehicle short distance. It is not on when start vehicle each morning and sit idleing. Drivers side wheel locks up on ice at low speed causes abs to kick in then abs light comes on. Brakes work good just abs light on and abs is disabled I guess.

Been driveing through reallydeep snow drifts with all the blowing snow we have had last couple of weeks. Temperature warmed up out side then abs light started coming on,coincednce? or would deep snow screw up abs sensor?

thanks for any help,advice

Water on the sensor can mess it up

if you have an ABS lite on have it scanned somewhere-with the proper info and depending on the 4x4 set-up that you have, you may be able to do it yourself. Then if further help is needed post the results here for help! The ABS unit you speak of is usually expensive and requires special procedures to install and odds are, it's not it-possible but not probable. Again, have it scanned. Also, depending on miles, there 'may' be a dealer 'campaign' to fix it. You will either have to check(with your vin) at the dealer or run a search on your own. good luck JP

Probably damaged the wiring for a wheel speed sensor.
