super quick sway bar question
anyone off hand know what size of nut holds the sway bar on the driver side of a 2000 4 dr 4x4 lt blazer. i managed to misplace mine taking corners and now i have a clunk. still rides and drives just fine. just would be nice to stop the sway bar clink and have it ride a bit better.
i dont know if it is from the sway bar playing but my passenger side bump stop was completely gone when i got the thing. |
Front or rear?

Front. Thanks for the quick reply

anyone?

Aftermarket or stock? Stock there is no nut (the top washer is threaded) so it likely is aftermarket if it came apart. It probably is 1/2-13 or the metric equivalent M12x1.75 (slightly smaller) or M14x2.00 (slightly larger). There could be differences depending on who the kit came from. I'd take the bolt out and go to Napa.

wait so then how do i tighten the washer. i know it sounds like a dumb question but mine is loose. and i thought there had to be nuts on top. but yea. mine is loose and any hel on this will be appreciated as i think this is the clunk in the front end

If it is the stock style of sway bar end link, then the top washer should be cut to a hex on the outer edge of the washer.
Another way to tell it is stock is that it will have a rather large plastic center section to it. Aftermarket ones typically have a rolled steel tube in the middle. |
this is bone stock. i have put more mods on it in a month that i have owned it than the two previous owners did in 111,000 miles lol. which is nice cuz it means that i start with a clean slate and can do things right.
thanks for the info and quick reply swart. you da man |
