Switching Instrument cluster
Hello, im new to these forums so I hope this section correct.
I currently just got a really good deal on a 1996 blazer. The only thing I do not like is the lack of tachometer. I've read you can buy a dash cluster from the same year with a tach and just plug and play it. But im concerned about setting the mileage on the new cluster. Can I transfer my old odometer or do I need to buy a cluster with lower mileage than mine and turn it up to my current mileage? Just want to keep things legal. Thanks |
You got a good deal why not keep it that way. There are a bunch of add on aftermarket tachs and brackets designed for these trucks. I do not know the specific answer to your question. Think it's a can'o worms myself. The aftermarket stuff looks real nice.

You can get an aftermarket tach & mount it. Changing out the entire cluster you should check with the local authorities about the procedure for the mileage.
As for the same year with a tach etc, look them up & see what would fit with your dash. |
