Default Taillight mount whips

I'm new to this site so im sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm tired of my magnet mount whip so I am looking to mount some 4 foot whips somewhere on my blazer but i don't want to break off my 4 footers by attaching them to the roof rack. The only place i could think of was making brackets coming from the tail lights. I have heard of a few guys doing it with mixed results. Would i have to modify my tail light or cut a small slot in my fender so that the light would sit in the fender right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just bent some 2" stainless and mounted it between the body and tailgate. I have a 4 foot firestik with a spring mount on there and have never had a single issue with it. Check out my build thread for pics and details (sorry I'm not sure which page you will find them on)
