Default TB diffuser

Hey everyone (specifically swartlkk) LOL. So i've read all the posts about TB diffusers and the related discussion. I understand what it does and why it's there. I have a couple questions for guys who have partially and completely removed them.

1. Swartlkk (or anyone else who has completely removed) Have or had you noticed any adverse conditions after fully removing the diffuser?

2. Anyone who has PARTIALLY removed the diffuser. any adverse effects of partial removal?

I'm considering doing this mod and want to know of any drawbacks. I know it creates better throttle response but likely doesn't actually increase power at all which i'm ok with. I figure it's a free mod and anything i get out of it while already having the top end apart is a plus.

Thanks in advance.

I have posted this in quite a few of the discussions. I did not like the low speed & just off idle driveability of the truck with the diffuser completely removed. It became very touchy at low speeds and just off idle. Also, I did not see any improvement on WOT 0-60 runs as evidenced by scans I performed both before & after the diffuser removal.

Another reason for not liking it was I was beginning to see soot develop on the plugs at the front of the engine as compared with the rear cylinders which once I understood the design a bit better, I attributed to an unequal concentration of EGR gases in the intake.

Cool thanks man. Did you ever get the smaller diffuser or modify one with a smaller diffuser? Were the symptoms any different or a nonissue without completely removing it if so?

I ended up trading the truck in before I got around to trying the 3/8" tall diffuser.

I do have an extra throttle body layin' in a box somewhere in the garage though. LOL If I had access to a flow bench, I'd go through each configuration, but I don't.

I think there is a way to make a homemade flowbench fairly cheap (although probably pretty much a PITA to build)
