just received my new (used) tccm, should i disconnect the battery before i reinstall or does it not matter?

it is generally the rule (when screwing with electronics) to disconnect the negative terminal BEFORE install.

i did when i put my new one in and it works just peachy

Yeah, disconnect the battery before you install and then connect when you are done.

installed yesterday 4x4 working great, $ 90.00 fix thanks ebay! has anyone tried hard wiring the 4x4 skipping the tccm?

glad you got her working

if you're going to go through the trouble of hard wring to cut out the TCCM, why not pull the encoder, tccm, switch, accuator, and solenoid and just cut a hole through your floor and weld a wrench to the side of your TC. take it back old school

i wasn't really being a smart ***. it has been done and there are a few links to a how to with pics from s10forum
