Default Is There a Ventalation Motor in the Door?

My 2nd Gen Jimmy...for the first 10 mins or so after turning the ignition on or starting my Jimmy I can hear what sounds like an electric motor running. Sounds like its coming from inside the left body panels maybefrom a door. Its not the fuel pump because I can hear the FP charge and stop. This noise doesn't stop. Sounds like its somekinda ventalation fan motor.
Any ideas?

Please include your vehicle information in your signature (year, drivetrain, etc).

Do you have auto-climate control? If so, the interior temperature sensor is located directly above the driver door. On the outside it is a small plastic grill. Inside is a temperature sensor and a fan that pulls air from inside the cabin over the sensor.

This thread should explain things quite well:
Weird sound, weird speaker-like device on driver's side

If it is making noise, then it is very likely that it is quite dirty. You can try cleaning it and seeing how it sounds then. If it is still making noise, then you could live with it, or replace it.

It's perhaps the canister purge pump (clears the charcoal canister of trapped fumes from the gas tank).

The canister purge pump is also known as the engine itself...
