A Transfer Case Selector Switch Fix

2 Attachment(s)
Recently my 3-button Transfer Case Selector Switch had been mysteriously cutting off (no lights). Removing the switch I found the connector that has the primary applied power feed seemed to be breaking contact. By touching it just right while it was still in place I could make the "2WD" light go on and off. The connector wasn't loose and all the contacts were clean. There was no apparent reason power should be lost.

I removed the switch and took the back off of it. Looking at the two pins on the switch for that connector where they just exited the switch (using a 10x loop) I could see what appeared to be cracks in the solder. I re-flowed the solder (adding about 0.5-1mm of fresh solder per pin) and it fixed the problem. Took me all of about 15 seconds of soldering. :)

I've attached a wiring diagram of the power feed only if anyone could use it. As you see in the diagram I have the switch disconnected where I made the repair.

Congrats on an easy and I'm sure very satisfying fix! :)

This is only one fix of a couple different possibilities. Yours could be a problem with the TCCM or vacuum issue.

Thanks for sharing. This will hopefully help people troubleshoot similar issues.
