Unhappy unable to read codes

I have a 95 blazer with a 16 pin OBDII connection and no code reader can read my codes.
is there any other way to get the codes? my service engine light is on and I really need to know what's wrong. The book gives me the steps to check the OBDI connector but not the 16 pin. any help would be appreciated!

thanks

I've heard a handful of 95 s got an OBD 1.5 powertrain control module. I'm not sure how to tell, but if its not OBD 1 and OBD II doesn't work. I'd look into the chance you have an OBD 1.5.

Sounds like you'll need to chase down an older Actron CP 9145 code reader along with the optional 16 pin '1.5' connector/adapter/cable (I'm pretty sure that such cables are still available as new items). Good used CP 9145 readers can be found on *Bay for about $50 or so with the optional 16 pin connector going for another 15-20 bucks. Other vintage readers from a limited number of companies are also said to work with these '1.5' systems. However, these are said to be very few in number. Otherwise, you will, of course, need to locate a shop with a reader capable of interfacing with your 1.5 system (at a reasonable cost).

Please note that the Actron CP 9145 is limited to pulling codes that are only related to basic drive-ability issues (cylinder misfire(s), O2 sensor(s), EGR, MAP, TPS, etc, etc). I'll also note that you should not, in any way, attempt to 'jumper' any connector pins as a means of pulling any codes from your 1.5 system (regardless of what some may say).
