Very Odd fuel pump issues...PLEASE HELP
I have a 98 Blazer, with 227k. About a week ago it developed some very odd issues with the fuel pump. About 3 years ago, the pump went out in it. I replaced it with an aftermarket one. Shortly after I replaced it, my gauge stopped working. If I got under and moved wires around, I could get it to work, but it always went back to low fuel, with the LF light on.
About a week ago, I went out to start it, and it wouldnt. There was no hum or anything from the pump. I got under, moved the wires, and it started and ran fine. Fast forward to today, the truck died about 6 times while driving home. Each time, I would pull over, and wiggle wires, and it would start. A few times, I didnt have to wiggle them, it just started on its own. So I got home, put it up on stands, and started it. Got under, the pump changed in pitch(noise) got a bit louder and the truck died while sitting still. Wiggled wires, and it wouldnt start. So I let it sit, and went out and started it, and it was running fine, until I touched the wires leading to the pump. Then it died. A few times I hit the bottom of the tank, and it started, and I dont know if it was a fluke or if the pump is bad. I dont want to drop the tank again, but the pump is a lifetime warranty so at least I have that going for me. Does anyone have any ideas????:icon_hyper::icon_hyper: |
I'm not sure how much more of an indication of wiring problems you need... You have a problem with the wiring and need to get that sorted.
