Water in driver side floorboard
 

We've had some heavy rains lately and my front driver side floor and carpet have gotten soaked. Its starting to stink. I can't find the leak anywhere, dash is not wet or anything. I dried it off, and the next morning, still wet, even wetter than before. Now I did take out the cowl vent cover a while back to fix a wiper problem, but I put it back in. I've seen a few posts on this at other sites. Any ideas?

Bad weather striping or bad door hinge pins not alowing the door to shut properly and not sealing properly. I have the same problem, whin i'm driving and it's raining a decent amount, i can watch water run down part of my door panel from the door not sealing properly.

x2 on what papacope said. My door is doing the same thing. Look for drip marks on the door panels.

That makes sense, since I've been putting off getting the hinge pins replaced even though the door has been dropping for a while.

I had the same issue - turns out it was the pins on my door so I had them replaced. Was all great for a few months until again I found it soaked.

After an exhaustive search it seems like there is a mini hole in the firewall behind the Cruise Control Box.

So much damage to my underlayment I am going to tear the interior out and clean, replace the underlayment and clean the carpet etc. The mold/mildew smell is horrendous. Wish me luck!

Do not rule out a bad seal around window running down your A-Piller,or a heater core,but with a heater core you would smell anti-freeze or see it on your windshield with the defrost on. Pull off right kick panel and if windshield is leaking you will see a path that the water has traveled.

I should of said a bad seal around your windshield. If it is bad it can drain down the A-piller to the floor.

There are 2 weighted flappers on both drivers side and passenger side cowl vent.These flappers accumilate tree leaves and debris,causing water to remain in cowl and causing cowl body rot. Remove both inner fender wells and at top of cowl remove flappers and flush out cowl vent.

Had same problem - original cause worn door hinges - replaced hinges and even installed new door seals. Fixed door closure but new seals still leaking. Had to shape the new seals in places for the door to seal better by using some double sided foam tape and pieces of circular foam tubing 1/4" diameter in various lengths. I held the door seal out of the way while I carefully layed in the double sided tape in behind it and then pressed the foam tubing in. Now the seal is propped a little bit from the backside instead of being flat and collapsed. You don't see the tubing as it is dark gray and at the backside of the seal.
