Default water running down driverside firewall when raining?

I have a 99 Bravada and every time it rains, underneath the driver-side carpet it gets wet, I already put new door pins and bushings in the door and checked the sunroof drain lines so all that checks out fine. today it really poured so i went out there with a flashlight and removed the kick panel and pulled the carpet back to find a steady stream of water running down the firewall near where the e brake cable runs through the floor. I got some food dye and put it on the base of the windshield and sure enough the dye came inside on the paper towel. SOOOO i believe its leaking in the wiper cowl somewhere around there. I bought a can of that seen on tv FlexSeal. I live in Oregon so when it stops raining should i remove the cowl and just do a coating in there and inside up on the firewall? Any better ideas as to where the leak may be coming from? Thanks in advance!!

There are drains on either side of the cowl that can get plugged, they run along the fender area. check those, pull the cowl off and inspect everything REALLY well.

well it finally stopped raining today so i pulled of the cowl (with those damn little plastic screw pop in things) and poured water directly in there and it didn't leak, drained out fine so poured some all over the windshield and noticed a small amount of water draining on the far right side near the fender down the firewall right over the top of the rubber gromit that holds the hood release cable in place.it was loose and didn't really fit well so I sealed it dried the carpet and put it all back together. NO MORE WET CARPET!

Glad you got it figured out. Thanks for posting what it took for future members who might have the same problem.
