What's the best vehicle to laptop scan tool?

I need to buy a new scan interface cable and software to use on my wife's 2001 Blazer. I've had one of these: OBDII Diagnostic ScanTools and code-readers for about 5 or 6 years, but it doesn't work anymore. I never really liked it because it has a serial connector and I had to use a serial to usb adapter. I was all set to buy this: http://www.myscantool.com/ but when I did a little digging, I found they have had customer service related issues going back a number of years. They may be all fixed now, but I don't get a warm fuzzy on ordering from them. Anyway...I'd appreciate input on what others have used that work the best - hardware and software. I'm just looking for something to use for diagnostic troubleshooting. Thanks in advance.

I have used Autotap and now have an Autoenginuity scanner with GM Enhancements. The search feature will turn up the discussions if you use one or both of those brands as keywords. :icon_wink:

Thanks, I'll check those out. Anybody else have a suggestion?
