Default Wheel well flaps

Has anyone replaced those "flaps" in the front wheel wells, the ones that go-over the upper shock bolts? I checked LMC Truck, nothing there. I think that just getting some type of material and cutting a new one from whats left of the old one would work.....thought about mud flap material, but too thick.

??????

You can get 1/8" rubber sheet on Amazon in all different sizes. It's probably better quality than the original stuff and it isn't too expensive.

What is the best way to attach the flap so you can remove it when you want to access the spark plugs and sensors? The original flap tears when you try to move it out of the way because it is rigidly attached to the metal fender.

I think the flap tears because they are old and brittle. Using the same type of fasteners but new material should be good for years.

I did find some die-cut flaps....actually called splash shields....not exactly cheap though...think they were $65 for the pair. Not what I had in mind....more along with what Tom A suggest.

They are call Gap Guards, for some reason they are advertised for s10 blazers with 3" lift, but they work fine. I've seen them while looking to replace my front ones... but I'm going to just get some material from home depot and make my own.

I was able to find them either at RockAuto or at the dealer. I replaced them a few years ago.

I would you push pins to attach them. Sometimes I've seen them with staples holding them to the inner fender. I took mine off before they were toast and made a cardboard template so I can make them as needed.

When I installed my replacement ones, they came with the plastic push pins. Most auto parts stores have a selection to chose from.

Jeez, I just read what I typed, talk about an illiterate hobo! "I would you", ha ha ha. That's just sad. I guess that's what I have to look forward to in my old age!

I have purchased two sets from eBay. Need to purchase the push pins separate but I am happy with them. Just search for blazer splash shield. I think they were 30 some dollars.
