Anyone know where can you view Chilton's manuals for free?

I'm not being a wise guy, the library. Some libraries systems have them on-line. Not a big fan of the Chilton's but sometimes some info is better then no info. You will need to go to your local library and get a card that will give you a key to there on line system.
I don't know were you live but my system has a on line auto section with repair manuals.

Spittybays is right on! Chilton & Haynes are fine if you need to learn how to change oil & filter. Better consult the owners manual for capacity though. Anything more than an oil change, get the factory service manual, you won't regret it.

My library has access to Chilton's through their website so I can look things up at home as long as I have my library card number and PIN. At the branch I can access Mitchell's OnDemand which is almost as good as the factory shop manual.

For convenience I purchased a set of factory manuals for each vehicle I own on eBay. I got my 1984 Buick shop manual for $20 from a local seller on eBay. The S/T truck manuals can be had for $75-90. If you do a lot of fixing on your truck it may well be worth it to buy a good set of factory manuals.
