Where is the encoder motor located?

OK, I have a 4x4 issue (suprise). The 4x4 will engauge into 2hi and 4lo only. I have checked all fuses(good) and I have jumpered a wire under the dash for the readout code. The encoder motor is the code that flashed. Now I have a new encoder motor and I am going to replace it myself. I talked breifly to a mechanic and he said whenever a blazer of this year comes in they just replace the encoder motor first. I asked him how and he said it is easy, but I am definitely not a mechanic.
Where is the encoder motor located? Also, what are the first few steps to remove it? Just getting some info before I start it myself.

Nevermind got it

Well while I got the truck on my ramps and unhooked the neg battery cable. Then I came in and typed the first post. I decided I would try hooking the neg cable back up as a last ditch effort to do as little work as possible. It now works. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
