Why didnt my ABS light go out? Its been MONTHS!
My master cylinder went out on my 95 blazer ls 4wd several mths back, and when it did fail my ABS light came on. I replaced the master cylinder the next day but my ABS light has remained on and its been months since this happened. Everything works just fine, its as if the light came on for a legit reason and afterward decided to become a dummy light. I have reset it a couple times to no avail. And also checked several times to see if it would throw me a code but it doesnt. Is there another reason for it to remain on or is there something else that could've went bad at the same time the master cylinder did that I haven't considered?

A bad Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly can cause ABS light also.

I just had my front end rebuilt bak in October, the only things that were still good were the tie rods and wheel bearings...so would they have found problems with the axle bearing and/or hub assembly then?

Possibly not. Dunno. If you raise your truck up like when you have an oil
change done and check your tires by seeing if they wiggle left to right, then your bearings are messed up.

All bearings are good, but its goin up on the lift later today so I will get under there and see if I can find ne thing.

Wait, I just had the wiggle test done when I went for an alignment..which they couldnt do cause they could wiggle my tires. That led to me replacing all the parts in the front end to make sure all was well, then I went back for the alignment and everything was ok. So could it have ne thing to do with the master cylinder installation? A friend of mine did it, and though im greatful for his help, Im afraid he may not have got it put on exactly right, like a lil loose maybe? It works fine but I can watch it wiggle if someone hits my brake pedal...so could the light be on and not go off if it isnt on there tight enough? It works fine and brakes are fine but Im wondering if the little wiggle could b causing my light issue.

You saying the master cyl wiggles? Not a good thing, tighten those nuts at wiggle point.
But I cant think how it could affect ABS.
heh.. My Bravadiva spent its life in Columbus IN till they kicked it out of state at auction

Yes, it basically wiggles LOL when the brake pad is pressed the master cylinder will sort of shake, not much but its visible, from side to side. And even though it does that, its goin on a yr now and my brakes havent worked ne different than b4. Except the part where I see that annoying lil light on my dash LOL I dont know what is causing it but it aint went off since I blew the seal in my old master cylinder...been on ever since. And Im originally not from Columbus, nor IN for that matter LOL Im a hill jack from KY where some people have to pipe in sunlight to their holler and pipe out the poo from the outhouse ROFL
