yet another 4x4 issue

I've done quite a bit of reading on here about 4x4 blazer problems.. wondered if anybody might take a stab at the problem I'm having..

My 4x4 worked fine a few weeks ago when I was forced to use it.. Since then I have dropped my gas tank and fixed a gas line. Just the other day I tried to go into 4hi and it did nothing. when I put it in neutral and pressed 4lo, 4hi flashed and then it went back into 2hi.. upon pushing 4lo a few times it eventually stayed on 4hi (according to the light indicator), but it was ACTUALLY in 4lo.

I read that you can run a jumper wire and get the codes.. but the obd plug under my 95 blazer's driver's dash has many more wires then the 12 pin plug the article implied... so I went about the directions to clear any codes that it might have but it still has the same problem.

I don't understand why it would shift into BOTH 4x4 and low range.. but not shift into 4x4 within the same range (high)..

Check out the Tech Article (DIY) section. Wiring diagrams and posts describing how to pull the codes are at your disposal.

Not to mention the common problems like corrosion at the TCCM and/or encoder motor connections, a faulty switch (wiring diagrams will give you the pins to test continuity on with a multimeter at the switch itself), etc. I am trying to pull as much of this information into the tech article section as I can, but much of it is available if you know what to search for.
