2002 Blazer Xtreme/Bose Speakers

Hey quick question for you guys....does anyone know if the Bose speakers are 2 or 4ohm with the bose system, and yes it came stock, runs off the amp in the center counsel. Not sure of the model of the amp.

Hey,
I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer Xtreme too, and I really want to get some subs. I noticed its all set up for it, I just haven't done it yet and I don't know anything about it. What is a 2 or 4 ohm? When looking for sub woofers, is there a special kind we have to get?? and do I need a amp/electrical box? I know Im not answering any of your questions, but I just figured I would jump in the conversation, cause Im kinda in the same boat :)

The ohms is more for in depth bass I believe, it all really depends on what you like. If you just want something to get a little extra base, then I would get a 10" sub, 500amp, you'll need to make sure the is a fuse between the amp and the battery. If you already have everything set up, then I would se how big the amp is, and that will let you know how big of a sub you can run.

Awesome! Yah there is a fuse or a chip that the previous owner gave me, and he said I would have to plug it in somewhere if I got subs. There are the cords to plug it in running up threw the back, so it looks to me like its all ready to go. Sounds like I should look for a amp and see what size it is..I wonder where the amp would be? I feel like the owner before definitely had subs in there.

I have the Bose in my 2000 GMC Jimmy and the speakers are I believe 2 ohm. My front left dash speaker went out and I installed Polk Audio 4X6 Rated for 2 Ohm Amp. At first I installed the Polk speaker on the left side to compare the volume out of each dash speaker. The sound volume was equal and the balance from right to left was perfect with the balance set in the middle. I installed the other Polk speaker in the right side dash. The Polk has more bass and better high notes than the factory Bose speakers. The sound blends extremely well with the subs mounted in the front doors and the rear door speakers. The Bose dash speakers are installed on an adapter plate. Once the plate is removed the 4X6 speakers fit perfectly in the dash.
