2005 blazer need a special adaptor for aftermarket deck installation?

Guys I'm going to install an aftermarket deck into my cousin's 2005 blazer with RDS. Anyone know if this needs the special adapter for the chimes like some other GMC products of that time period? I'm hoping not but haven't been able to find clarity on crutchfield or scoshe's websites.

Any help is appreciated.

This is a GM data-bus radio, so there's no accessory power wire in the factory harness--the computer controls the radio on/off functions. Also, the factory radio generates all vehicle warning chimes. If you remove the radio and don't want to lose your vehicle's chime functions, you'll need to use a special adapter module that can be fairly expensive. (You can also find special harnesses that allow you to keep the factory radio in the system and re-locate it to the trunk). If you don't care about the chimes, you can just use a standard wire harness like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...item588d3471eb , but you'll have to route your head unit's red accessory wire to a key-switched voltage source. I prefer to use the brown accessory power wire in the vehicle's ignition harness, but this isn't the easiest thing in the world to do.

i have a 2005 blazer and i just wired in my old stereo in the back and jsut used a T harness to split the power half to my new stereo and half to the factory stereo. so far no problems. Unsure if this works with the optional bose sound package though. saved about 150 bucks for that data module, just a bit of extra work
