4 door speaker replacement
Wondering if anyone has used this speaker package for the front doors of their Blazer/Jimmy? Front Door Factory Speaker Replacement Package for 1998-2005 Chevy Blazer | NVX | eBay Mine is a 2002 and has the tweeters in the dash. Though these speakers are coaxial, will the factory tweeters still fire? I'm replacing blown speakers....not looking for mega bass or custom baffles and hassle....just drop in and go. H/U will be a Kenwood Excelon when I get the install kit. Rear door speakers=currently undecided. TIA

The dash tweeters are wired in parallel with the front door speakers, so you can replace the door speakers, and the factory dash tweeters will still work.
Pretty much any 6.5" speaker will work in the door locations, although some of the ones will larger magnets will hit the window channel support. If your new speaker is a tiny bit too deep to fit, you can put a washer or two on the lower bolt in between the window channel and the door frame to space it back a 1/4" without any problems. |
Will the 6 and 3/4 inch speakers fit?

I believe 6.75" speakers will also fit, with minimal modification to the mount. Each speaker is going to be slightly different, but with a bit of custom work you should be able to fit whatever you want in there.

Anything is possible if you have some fabrication skills, and are willing to cut stuff up. I have 8" subs, and a 5.25" component set in the doors of my Sonoma.

That's slick! My brother has a Sonoma....I'll have to tell him this. The new speakers arrive tomorrow, as well as a new in box Sony H/U....same one that was in my old truck. Loved it so much I bought another and am selling the Kenwood. My weekend will be spent installing it all. :D

I put 5.25" speakers in the front doors, I didn't realize 6.5" would fit. I cut a filler ring out of 1/4" plywood, attached the ring to the door, and then the speaker to the ring.
