92 Blazer rear 6x9 project
I had a new pair of 250w 6x9 speakers laying around so I decided they would look and sound good in the rear doors of my blazer. I want to say first this was no afternoon project, both doors have 8 hours invested. I'll save you the pictures and text on cutting the hole in the door panel and door skin, I'll just say it takes time to line everything up. The final mount ended flushing with the kick panel, and the magnet on the speaker is so close to the outside skin you can hang a small wrench on the door.

wow...looks good man. Very clean

Yeah that's a great job man.

Install looks good. Thats a lot of work for some 6x9s though.
#5
does the window clear the speaker when rolled down? great job though.

The rear windows are designed to roll only half way, old school child proof I guess.

ok, i wasn't sure. never been in an older jimmy/blazer. looks really good though

Just ordered the 4x6 for the dash tonight. I matched them at 250w, this system sounds pretty good just running off the head unit at 45w per chan. Should sound even better with the new 4x6's. I got a 250w sub, that i'll be adding as soon as I get the carpet up so I can run the RCA and power cables to the back. I got some really crazy ideas with the entertainment in this blazer - post more as it comes.

what head unit? I dont think there ever was a head unit produced that could supply a clean 45RMS. I bet that is a peak number which doesnt mean anything.

if there was that thing would be huge, and get really hot!
