Altering OEM speaker sizes
 
Howdy

In college and funds are tight. I have 4 brand new Kenwood KFC-174x that I have had for a while and while I know the fronts are 4x6 and the rear is 6x9 has anyone tried to put to put in 6.5s?

Fitting a 6.5" speaker into a 4x6 space will be quite difficult, however it's very simple to put them into a 6x9 space. Just make an adapter plate from MDF using the factory speaker as a template and cut the appropriate size hole for your speaker.
