theres no reason why i should spend 15 to 20 for 0/1 ga wire when 8 or 4 ga will work im just getting through till i get all my money together this spring or summer when im gonna sound deaden and insulate everything put a killer system in it a bigger alt better wire power windows/locks so all i need till then is 8 or 4 ga to handle what i have now
I suggest you read up and understand what your asking first. You just as well spend the money (I highly doubt 2 foot of 1/0 wire is gonna cost you $15) and do the big 3 upgrade now. Now or later doesn't matter but there is no point of doing it halfassed now then doing it right later. If your planning on putting a system in it now thats gonna require a bigger alt your already doing it backwards and you'll just burn you alt up before you have the money to replace it.

I know some people have to learn the hard way and your not hearing what you want but most all of us have been through this before. Save some money and do it right the first time because throwing money away having to redo stuff over and over gets real old real fast.

well i know that a 14 gauge wire wouldnt hold the current for my amp that i alreay have for about 2 years now in rms it 34 ampers and the peak i had measured it only drew about 48 ampers so i know i need to either hook the alt straight to amp or battery and the amp is outt of the question so im gonna use the battery, i already have 4 ga ground to the alt and the body off the battery, and im replaceing the starter wire to 2 ga its old and fragile and all thats left is the alt then when i get the money im switching the amp i have now to my mids and tweets and pulling my amp out of the suburban to my blazer and putiing 2000 watts rms to 2 pioneer 12's permier pros, and buy the right alt and put a bigger system in the suburban
