Well, the DECK can't power the subs... Well, it can, but either the deck or the subs will get burned out...

The amp will work for the subs... A little over kill, but it'll work... Just make sure to remember that the RMS wattage of the Type-E's is only like 200 or 250...

whoa! cant power subs with 7watts!!!!

and theres no way I'd pay $205 for a sony amp........it may say 1200 watts, but thats not what your going to get.

I really like the Type E's for budget subs.......I ran one and really liked it for the price, nice clean sound.

a few amps I think you'll be alot happier with around the same price. for the extra 30 or 40 bucks the alpine is great.

I wouldnt be paying $205 for the sony amp cuz i can get discounts on it and it would bring it down to $150. Do u guys think i should keep the alpine amp or buy the sony amp?

By deck. I mean the stereo itself... I don't think there's any head unit that's built to power subs... Not decent ones, at least... That's what your first link was to, not an actual amp...

the ONLY thing sony amps are good for is a door stop or a paper weight.

the alpine you posted is $208 and 400rms, the alpine I posted is a V12(their top line) 600rms+ digital read out of voltage/heat/current etc and is only $20 more. so thats $20 for 200 more watts. hence, a much better deal.

if your still deciding between the sony or the MRP alpine, deffinatly go with the alpine. So much better build quality and your subs will love you for it.

Not true! Sony amps make good markers for corners on home brew race tracks! lol

I've used cappy built amps before (Jensen) and there's a world of difference between a crappy amp and a good one, even when they're rated at the same power output.
