RE: amp location
Theres really no place to mount an amp to factory panels and have it look good. I would say the only two options are screwed to the box or make an amp rack...
|
RE: amp location
is there room behind any of the panels that you could hide it?
|
RE: amp location
just drill it to the back because i heard its better if the amp is closer to thesubs

RE: amp location
I mounted mine to the box, simply because there is no where else to do it.

RE: amp location
on the other hand, constant vibration isnt good for anything.......Try to use some sort of shock absorber on each corner of the amp.
|
RE: amp location
whould anyone have pics of what there amp rack looks like?
|
RE: amp location
mine is a false floor (in the making) where the rear seat used to be. It wont help you much in your situation.

RE: amp location
I would just mount it to the box with some rubber risers on it to isolate the vibration...Most amps wont have a problem as long as the box is braced well, but I have had a few amps have internal parts fall off over time...

RE: amp location
just make an amp rack. Takes like 20 mins lol.
Never mount to the box. Rattling an amp with important components inside to power it is never good. |

ORIGINAL: XBlazer01 just make an amp rack. Takes like 20 mins lol. Never mount to the box. Rattling an amp with important components inside to power it is never good. I have only had 2-3out of hundreds of amps come back to me that have failed due to vibration. And they were all either very low end or very old amps... |
RE: amp location
mainly its all gonna come down to amp quality.
If your running a standard amp compaired to a higher quality one. the lower one will more than likely fail. |
RE: amp location
i agree on the possibility of debate on mounting an amp to the box. I always have, even with my larger systems, and still have never had a problem. but you never know.
