Default Amp not working, need help

amp: Kenwood KAC-7204
sub: Alpine type R 10in 4ohms

I check all fuses and wires, power goes to the sub and the control wire has power, tested ground everything seems to be fine except amp. I also check power on the inside and it has power there also. But the amp does not turn on. Bad power-on relay?

Hard to say for certain, your explanation of the steps you've taken so far to check everything out are a little hard to follow. Here's what I would check:

1. Check that you have 12+ volts at the power terminals of the amp.
2. Verify that you get 12+ volts on the remote terminal when you turn on your HU or key and that the amp powers up. (depending on how you have it wired.)
3. Make certain the RCA's are connected to the line in not the line out connections.
4. If you've connected the sub bridged to the amp, make certain it's on the correct terminals.
5. If the amp is going into protect, disconnect the sub and see if it powers on without protect. If it does then something may be wrong with the way the sub is wired or something is wrong with the sub.

If it still doesn't work after completing these steps then we'll go from there.

Power from battery is good, ground is good, and power-on-wire is good.
Amp does not power on at all and is not activating protective mode.
Tomorrow I will check the audio lines and re hook everything up again and will report back.
Thanks for the help.

check for power on both sides of the fuse, or if you have a multimeter test resistence of the fuse.

easiest way to check a fuse is check the resistance.

Did you hook the rem wire up to the correct wire in your radios wiring harness? There's usually a orange and two blue wires left over for ant power, steering wheel controls and then the other blue is for your amp

That's a horse of a different color. Sounds like the amp is bad to me. If it's under warranty you need to go and see what the dealer you purchased it from can do for you. If it's no longer under warranty you could take the cover off and see what you can see may be bad, otherwise I'd just call it on this one and look for a replacement.

Why wouldn't you secure it down?

Leaving it free floating allows it the possibility to be damaged or as in your case, crimps apart/wires unhooked.

Bolting it through the floor is quite fast and easy to do, and if that's too much for you, you could just get some sheet metal screws and do it that way. Either way, always secure.
