Back up camera?
 

So I have my back up camera installed finaly. And it works perfectly and automatically switches the screen when I shift into reverse with the engine OFF. But if the engine is running the screen switches but stays a black screen. Anyone know what may be going on?

What HU do you have the camera running to?

Sounds to me like there's possibly a built in safety that is getting activated when you start the truck. Can you manually switch to the input? If so, can you switch to it manually and see the camera on the screen? Need to figure out a way to verify for certain the camera is being powered/switched on after the vehicle is running.

It's a non name brand HU off ebay. I can switch it manually but it stays a black screen because I have the signal wire (witch if I remeber right is a pink wire on the back of the HU) to turn the camera on wired into the reverse light. If I manualy switch it with the engine off and then put it into reverse it works, but if I do the same with the engine on it stays black. Also if it helps any the cameras power is tapped into the HU key on power supply, and it's grounded in back with a skrew into the body that was there.
