Default can this work???

i am adding some mid bass drivers to my system and want them in the rear door stock location on my 2002 4 dr blazer, only problem is i did not realize when i bought the drivers that the mounting deptth is 3.5" and the rear door mounting depth is 2.329" (according to crutchfield). The drivers are ED EU 700's, the local installer tells me to make a 1.17" spacer out of mdf to make the depth but i do not have the tools to do it and am not sure if that large of a spacer will fit behind the stock door panel, cutting the door panel is NOT an option. any one know for sure if i can get an adapter/spacer and still fit behind the door panel?

the spacer will still work with your door panels. I use them at my shop, and I've never had a fitment issue.

just an update, There is no possible way, spacer or not that the eD EU 700's will fit in the rear doors, i took it all apart and it is never gonna happen. first off they would need at least a 1 3/4" spacer with magnet right on window track (which can not be moved or spaced, welded right to door frame!) secondly even with that much of a spacer, the door panel does not fit over the speaker, it sticks out about 2" or so so it would involve major cutting and glassin to work. I had to return the speakers. The EU 700's are 3.5" deep!! I am not sure how Hillbilly did it but it certainly does not work on mine...

why isn't cutting the door panel an option?
rear door on a 4 door would need major modification and glass work inorder to do it, also the way the rear speaker sits in the rear door location, it is molded into the door handle portion of the door which would require major modification, i am trying to keep a stock appearance and do not like when speakers stick out of the door panel by 2 or so inches and have a grill that does not blend in with the door panel. plus anything that would stick out from the door panel 2 or more inches would begin to interfere with the rear seat because of the location of the speaker in the rear door (high towards the back of the door against the seat ) not an option for me! another reason is the door panel grill is just a series of slots in the face of the panel, a round speaker grill would not blend in or follow the shape. Mid bass is not so important that i would hack up the truck just to add it. the system sounds great as it is, i just wanted to try it and see if it makes a huge difference in sound. the EDi 6500's kick a** with 85 watts each goin to them.
