Car Audio Install Help

I ordered a subs with about 1500rms and a amp with about 3000watts peak. I was wondering if my GMC Jimmy will be able to handle this electrical wise. Will i have to do the big 3 upgrade, or a high output alternator etc..Or will it run fine without draining my battery and causing my car to not start. Thanks please let me no.

What's your set up? A lot of times, amps that say they put out 3000 watts don't do anywhere near that.

Post your setup and I can help ya more

you should always do the big 3 upgrade if your going to use any kind of aftermarket stereo the stock wiring is just that stock

No it wont handle it if that amp pushes a true 1500 rms..Doing the big 3 with 4 gauge or bigger helps a little, but im pushing only 900 rms and if im running full tilt on the subs with my lights, and blower motor on my alt is screaming for help. it stays above 14v though if its just the amp running. I dont have ac,i bet it would kill.

All ive done on my 91 with the 100 amp alt is the big 3 and a good battery.

I got a Power Acoustic Mofo 12 sub, and a SSl 3000watt amp. i think at 2 ohms the amp says it pushes 1500rms.
