Deer whistle placement

Deer whistle placement
New member, and not sure where best to post..
I am working on my new (to me) S-10 Blazer, she is an '01. I have the grille off this weekend to paint it, and I have a new Hopkins electronic deer whistle to install. I am looking for feedback from anyone who has installed one. I am thinking behind the grille, but I would like the location to neither affect the effectiveness of the whistle, nor impede the airflow to the radiator. Any suggestions?
Secondarily, I am considering putting some window screen on the inside of my stock grille to catch the many insects and other debris that end up embedded in my radiator fins. Any info here also appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
