Delco Radio for Europe
Hi all
I have my chevy on restoration , after found it stoped in a farm under two trees ...I wanted to find the original radio cassette but its very dificult to find here at Spain but I have friends in WI and ussualy go to USA by job so I can import it but . I know the USA broadcast is different than Europe but I found some information how to modify the circuit on some models using DM246 PLL processor. I have skill in electronics ... I think about some model between 87 and 95 , there are a lot of models like 16041551 than is possible to adapt on my car . someone know where i cand find extended information for delco? I didn,t find any official web page... |
Oh boy. You have set yourself a challenge. I can't help beyond suggesting you might ask some questions at some electronics/radio online forums and see if you get any good advice from there.

I would suggest maybe an eBay site from a nearby European country, or check out some of the salvage yards across the continent.
I have stumbled upon a few Swedish salvage yard sites, and am always jealous of all the cool stuff they have over there. Too expensive to ship here, for my budget, at least. |
AC Delco for Europe
hi all
Christine , of course , it is a challenge , restoration like original is a challenge . I found and just bought one radio cassette from 88 on eBay for 23€ in Spain , I am waiting for it. Jensen at yunkyard is very difficult to find a S10 . but I am very patient .... just when get the radio from eBay seller I am anxious to open it and study how to modify the electronic circuit for working at Europe. |
surprised with radio tunning
hi all
I received the radio and check it and I am surprised because it is capable to tune 50khz steps at FM and 9khz at AM , it means it is working at Europe . at display it's showing 50 when tuning manually . someone have this radio and is it showing 50 at display ? my radio is 16192465 Delco |
Then you got lucky and hit a radio from 95 or 96 and later.
The older like my 94 can not be swapped to the 9kHz stepping. I have completely removed the OEM radio and used it's connector to make a harness which plugs into the factory connector. The older than 95 Blazers will need some spacer in the dash thou because the OEM radio is shorter (depth) than a standard ISO rack. |
If you need spare parts for your car, PM me.. I am from Germany, actually 2 S10 on my ground.
