External speakers (not mounted)
 

I swiped an old set of speakers that my dad had in the garage. They need recarpeted but other than that they're in fine shape.

How can I intergrate them into the stock stereo? I know I'd probably need an AMP.

I'm not sure of the rating I've still yet to take a close look at them.

But for now, my question is how would I connect them? (what wires to hack, needed equipment (like AMPS), and the like).

an amp, a line output convertor, amp hookup kit(size depends on how big of an amp) What are the models of the subwoofers. What year is your truck.

I doubt all of you effort will be worthwhile though. What are you trying to accomplish as far as sound goes?

Its an 01.

To my knowledge they're not subs, anyway to tell the difference? My dad said they were speakers.

I'm just wanting better bass response pretty much.... i guess. I'm not real determined on EXACTLY what I want.

well low bass comes from subs andmid bass comes from midbass drivers. Which bass are you wanting more of? I think before you just start adding things to your behicle you should sit down and figure out exactly what your goal is and then how to achieve it. It can save you a lot of money in the long run. If you dont already have an aftermarket HU, that would be the absolute best place to start.

They're 8 or 9's, don't have an accurate way to measure at the moment. I'd really like to know how they sound before I even bothered putting them in since it's been forever since they've been used and I don't remember ever hearing them.

At this point I'm still thinking on it. My main project to get done with the Blaze is the exhuast. Increasing MPG anyway I can even if it's small is more important than bass respones right now. As of right now I'm only on an info gathering trip... sound system wise.
