Factory Radio Mystery/Question to all the Blazer pros

Hey people....I have a 2000 Blazer LT with a factory radio. (see pic) The radio has SCV (speed compensated volume) and I can't figger out how to get it to work![:@][:@] Ive tried the owners manual and have had little luck with it![:@] I know that there is an adjustment dial right below the main volume knob,I've turned it,but it doesnt seem to help. Also....right above the volume (slightly right actually) is a little light indicator that I think MAY have something to do with it. This little light NEVER seems to come on, even when I pop in a cassette or C.D..
Is this litle light an indicator that the SCV is on?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.....................Rich

The light is for the Theft-Lock, if it's not activated, the light won't come on.

I drove my mom's and brother's trucks with the SCV and never noticed a difference on either one.

From the owner's manual:
SCV (Speed
-Compensated Volume):
With SCV, your
audio system adjusts automatically to make up for road
and wind noise as you drive. Set the volume at the
desired level. Turn the control ring behind the upper
knob clockwise to adjust the SCV. Each notch on the
control ring allows for more volume compensation at
faster vehicle speeds. Then, as you drive, SCV
automatically increases the volume, as necessary, to
overcome noise at any speed. The volume level should
always sound the same to you as you drive. If you don’t
want to use SCV, turn the control all the way down.

The directions are clear. The important part is, 'The volume level should always sound the same to you as you drive.' If the SCV is working, you won't notice an increase in sound level, you simply don't hear any loss in level due to outside noise.

Down is the wrong way. As the manual says, rotate it clockwise (up) to increase the SCV volume. At least that is the direction mine works.
