i think focal utopia's go for a few thousand a set, and use something in their motors thats supposedly more valuable than gold, what do you mean best company? no such thing.

but best bang for the buck seems to be PG rsd comps. im running a set on 75rms each and they sound loud and clear.

No you dont neeeed an amp, but with more power, they can play louder with less distortion, and sound alot better doing it.

go with components with a decent crossover, filters low frequencies which tweeters are not supposed to play, will sound alot cleaner.

hope this helps.

I also have a 2000 TrailBlazer. If it has a Bose Stereo I think you need to replace everything at once.

well your lucky there...lol the bose system has some weird size speaker in the doors. i think they may be a 7 inch, but anyhow, i put 6.5's in my doors. i had to make an adapter out of MDF so they would fit. as far as brands of speakers... rockford fosgate, mb quart, phoenix gold, re audio, pioneer(except for the ones at wally world), etc... they all make decent speakers. just depends on how much you want to spend.

my friend totaled his saturn and had 4 6'5 pioneers so i bought them for about 25 bucks.. i think they are 2 way 160w 4ohm.. i put them in yesterday and they sound good. now i need a deck and some subs lol
