full detailed guide to removing the radio?
i searched and didn't find much. can someone point me to a full detailed guide, preferabley with pictures, to help me get the stock radio out? i found a couple on google, but they're pretty vague. thanks.
woot! thanks. looks easy enough; will probably become a 5 hour project with my luck[sm=smiley36.gif]. it was either do it myself or let circuitcity do it (for free). i'd rather do it myself just for the experience though.
the guide is pretty detailed, but is there something i should worry about that's not described? especially when dealing with the power and all that.
also, i have a 1999, but this guide is for a 98 - looks identical in the pictures, at least. it's both in the same gen, so i shouldn't expect any surprises, right?
last question; how deep does the stock radio go? it says there's a chance that the rear of it is supported by a plastic tab; if it's there, i just want to know beforehand if i'm going to have to break it off.
thanks again.

You will have to break the tab off circled in this picture. HERE
It is the same for your truck, its pretty easy. just put the harnesses together before you plug them in.

well, i put in my new headunit earlier today. like i suspected, it took longer than it should've; a little under 2 hours. the hardest part was getting the dash panel off; very tight space to move it around. had to pop off a couple things; the control box and the 2x4/4x4 box next to the vent above. but after that, installing the headunit was cake. putting the dash panel back on was a bit easier as well.
